As the UK Leaders in Driven Vehicle delivery DMN Logistics relies on partnering with the best drivers in the industry to deliver the exceptional level of service their customers demand. However legacy application forms and documents created headaches and manual processes that drained their staffs time and resources. Completing all the steps to on board an individual was taking around 5 hours of manual work. This was resulting in painful delays to applicants who often had found other business to pursue in the meantime.
Linden Solutions, in partnership with All Digital designed, developed and delivered a new on boarding system that automates many of the manual processes previously relied on by DMN Logistics. New tools were developed giving staff an overview of all pending applications, their progress though the on boarding process, and time since last engagement, this has enabled staff to ensure applicants are always engaged though the process and kept up to date.
Induction of new Drivers is now completed using new technology, information, and documents are delivered electronically by new android tablets allowing all data collection to be automatically imported into DMN Logistics existing system, and for capturing digital signatures on all documents removing the need to store paper documents.
Finally, by automating the checking of driver licence data from the DVLA DMN Logistics are able to ensure speedy eligibility checks for new applicants as well as ensuring their existing partner drivers are covered by their insurance policy.
By automating critical checks applicants now receive faster responses from the team at DMN Logistics, typically getting a response on the same, working day as their application is submitted. The implementation of electronic documents, and data collection as well as the automatic Driver Licence checking has cut the amount of time spent by staff at DMN Logistics per applicant from 5 hours to 2 hours allowing them to provide a better service to their partner drivers and a smoother on boarding process.
The new recruitment process has improved the efficiency of the department and reduced timescales for new inductees in regards to start dates. The Recruitment trackpad has also provided analytical data for management reporting.
